Warranty Policy
Petra Truck Equipment Ltd. warrants to the original purchaser that all new bodies, equipment, and accessories manufactured or installed by Petra are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service conditions, subject to the terms and limitations below.
Petra warrants its own workmanship and installation. Major components — bodies, cylinders, PTOs, hydraulic pumps, and similar items — are warrantied by their respective manufacturers. Petra facilitates manufacturer claims on the customer's behalf.
Petra Warranty Coverage Periods
Coverage durations measured from the date of delivery or installation
Workmanship
1 Year
Installation, welding, assembly, mounting, wiring, and plumbing performed by Petra Truck Equipment.
Paint & Finish
90 Days
Limited to service performed at Petra Truck Equipment’s facility or materials supply only. Does not cover scratches, chips, or damage from use.
Hydraulic Hose & Fitting Leaks
90 Days
Covers leaks at hose connections and fittings installed by Petra. Does not cover damage from abuse, improper use, or failure to retorque at required intervals.
What Petra Covers
Petra's warranty covers workmanship and installation only — not the major components themselves.
- Defects in workmanship, including welding, assembly, and installation performed by Petra Truck Equipment
- Installation-related issues such as mounting, wiring, plumbing, and hardware installed by Petra
- Replacement labor required to correct a covered workmanship defect
- Hose and fitting leaks at connections installed by Petra (within the 90-day period)
Manufacturer Component Warranties
The components below are warrantied by their respective manufacturers, not by Petra. Petra will assist with filing claims, coordinating with the manufacturer, and scheduling warranty repairs at our facility when possible.
Body
Warrantied by the body manufacturer per their terms and conditions
Hydraulic Cylinder
Warrantied by the cylinder manufacturer per their terms and conditions
PTO
Warrantied by the PTO manufacturer per their terms and conditions
Hydraulic Pump
Warrantied by the pump manufacturer per their terms and conditions
Other Major Components
Hoists, tarps, lighting, and similar components are warrantied by their respective manufacturers
Maintenance Requirements
The following maintenance is required to keep warranty coverage in effect. Failure to complete these items at the specified intervals may void related coverage.
PTO Bolt Retorque
At 30 days from in-service date
Failure to retorque PTO bolts at the required interval may void warranty coverage for PTO-related issues.
Hydraulic Connection Retorque
At 30 days and again at 90 days
Hydraulic suction hoses, clamps, O-ring fittings, and pipe swivel fittings must be retorqued at both intervals. Failure to retorque may void warranty coverage for hydraulic-related issues.
Speed Limiter for PTO Engagement
Required: 10 mph or less
A functioning speed limiter set at 10 mph or less for PTO engagement is required for PTO and hydraulic pump warranty coverage.
What Is Not Covered
The Petra warranty does not cover the following conditions
- Normal wear and tear, including rust, corrosion, abrasion, and cosmetic deterioration from regular use
- Damage caused by overloading, misuse, abuse, neglect, accidents, or operation beyond rated capacity
- Damage from improper maintenance, unauthorized modifications, or repairs performed by parties other than Petra Truck Equipment or an authorized service provider
- Damage caused by environmental factors such as road salt, chemicals, gravel, or other corrosive materials
- Third-party components or accessories not installed by Petra Truck Equipment (covered by the respective manufacturer’s warranty)
- Consequential or incidental damages, including loss of use, lost revenue, towing costs, or rental expenses
- Equipment that has not been properly registered with Petra Truck Equipment within 30 days of delivery
- PTO and hydraulic pump damage on vehicles without a functioning speed limiter set at 10 mph or less for PTO engagement
Warranty Service Process
How to get warranty service when you need it
Register Your Equipment
Complete warranty registration within 30 days of delivery to maintain coverage.
Report the Issue
Contact Petra Truck Equipment as soon as an issue arises to begin the warranty process.
Assessment & Claim
For workmanship items, Petra evaluates the issue directly. For major components, Petra files the claim with the manufacturer on your behalf.
Repair at Petra
Approved warranty repairs are completed at our Sidney, OH facility, or at a location approved in writing by Petra.
Warranty Remedies
- At its sole discretion, Petra Truck Equipment will repair or replace any part or component found to be defective under this warranty.
- All warranty repairs must be performed at Petra's facility in Sidney, OH, or at a location approved in writing by Petra.
- Transportation of the equipment to and from the repair facility is the responsibility of the customer.
Transferability & Limitations
- This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is not transferable to subsequent owners unless approved in writing by Petra Truck Equipment Ltd.
- Petra's liability under this warranty shall not exceed the original purchase price of the warranted product.
- This warranty is provided in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent permitted by law.

Warranty Tips
Register Within 30 Days
Warranty registration must be completed within 30 days of delivery. Late registration may void coverage.
Meet Retorque Intervals
Retorque PTO bolts at 30 days and hydraulic connections at 30 and 90 days. Keep documentation of the service.
Verify Speed Limiter
Confirm the chassis speed limiter is set at 10 mph or less for PTO engagement before placing the unit in service.
Report Issues Promptly
Contact Petra immediately when an issue is observed so warranty timing and documentation can be preserved.
Register Your Equipment
