Winter Maintenance Tips for Your Dump Body
Prepare your dump body for winter conditions with these essential maintenance tips and best practices.

Start With Corrosion Prevention
Salt, brine, and freeze-thaw cycles can accelerate corrosion. Wash the body and chassis regularly and inspect seams, hinges, tailgate hardware, and mounting points.
Check Hydraulic Components
Cold weather can expose weak seals, contaminated fluid, and sluggish valves. Verify fluid condition, hoses, fittings, and hoist operation before winter work ramps up.
Keep Safety Systems Visible
Lighting, reflective tape, backup alarms, and tarp systems should be cleaned and tested frequently when snow, road spray, and shorter daylight hours reduce visibility.
